Taormina

Today, We took an hour bus tide to Taormina. Taormina is a resort town clinging to a seaside cliff overlooking the Ionian Sea. There is a Greek Roman theater and a gondola ride to the beach. It is a place to sit back and have a glass of wine. It is very touristy with many many shops. From here you can get another bus to the top of the mountain to see a beautiful little village called Castlemola. There are several churches and the remnants of a castle. The bus ride is along a very narrow serpentine narrow road with sharp drop offs. It reminded us of the Amalfi coast. For more information copy and paste Taormina and Castlemola into Wikipedia link in the right margin. Tap on pictures to enlarge them.
